The neighbourhood

Grinzing, a village inside the city

Grinzing is one of Vienna's old wine villages, in the 19th district at the edge of the Vienna Woods. Its narrow streets, vineyards and traditional wine taverns give it the feel of a peaceful village, yet the city centre is a single tram ride away.

Life here is quiet and unhurried, with a real Austrian feel. It suits families well, and it is a calm place to work from home.

Tram 38 runs from Grinzing straight to Schottentor in the 1st district. The U4 underground at Heiligenstadt is also easy to reach by bus or by car. For everyday shopping, Q19 is the local, family-friendly shopping centre.
